In Yola Adamawa state,Ā persistent insurgency like Boko haram, cultural perceptions and poverty have pushed many children, especially girl children aged 4-16 away from school, resulting in a staggering number of out-of-school children.
A state of about 6 million projected population, 1 in every 5 children in Adamawa state is not in school and UNICEFĀ Ā reported that 60% percent of out-of-school children in Nigeria comes from the northern states including Adamawa.
We are calling on meaningful Nigerian, organisations, and philanthropists to support us provide seats for vulnerable students, especially girls who UNICEF says are likely to drop out of school for lack of infrastructure.
We are pleading for your support to provide at least 200 school seats for students in Doubeli Government Day Secondary School, Yola.
You can support us by providing one or two seats, or, as many seats as you can. each seat costs at least N7,500 ($5) and our dream of providing 200 seats gives a budget of $1000.
Your support will keep many students in school as each year reduces the likelihood of insurgency by 20% in Adamawa state.
We are committed to giving an audit account of how each penny is spent.
Your support will help increase motivation for students to stay in school and reduce the dropout rate.
Your support will increase quality education outcomes as 4 in 5 children of school children cannot read and write in English after completing basic six (6).
